Travel

Travelling by Plane

For international participants, we recommend to fly to Frankfurt airport and then to take the ICE (high-speed train) from Frankfurt airport train station to Wuerzburg main station (approx. 1 1/2 hours). We will offer 2 shuttles from Wuerzburg to Kloster Banz on July 21 and transfer options back to Wuerzburg on July 27 and 28 (details have to be provided during registration). Alternative airports are Nuremberg, Munich and Berlin. Here, no shuttle options will be offered but you can take the train to the venue.

Travelling by Train

The closest train stations are:

  • Bamberg, which is located at the ICE-track Munich-Berlin-Hamburg
  • Bad Staffelstein, located at the train track Bamberg-Leipzig.

We recommend to take the ICE to Bamberg and then the regional train (RE) to Bad Staffelstein.
From Bad Staffelstein, it’s best to continue by taxi (approx. 20 EUR) but we might also offer a shuttle depending on the demand.

Trains have to be booked through the Deutsche Bahn. We recommend using the DB navigator, which is available for iOS and Android: https://int.bahn.de/en/booking-information/db-navigator

Travelling by Car

Kloster Banz is close to the Autobahn A73. Take the exit “AS12 Lichtenfels-Nord” (coming from the north) or “AS 14 Bad Staffelstein-Kurzentrum” (from the south) and then follow the signage.
